Sound lag/stutter while playing music in background while using programs until I reopen vox

I have 2013 2.6ghz 750m 16gb retina macbook pro. I usually only have chrome, spotify, vox open so I don't necessarily lack the resources. So yeah sometimes me music will start stuttering while I am using my browser and will go away when I reopen vox from my dock while it's playing. I'm guessing it's some sort of RAM/memory issue. are there any settings I got trigger to make it think it's in foreground? thanks

You are losing users when you put buffer setting in advanced(premium user only)

I forgot to add this it is a random occurrence and happens at least once maybe every 15-30 minutes

Which files You are playing when this happens? (format, location)
Which output You Are using when this happens? (built-in, external)?

Even though Chrome may eat up really lots of computer resources sometimes, I think this could be some problem with OS X forcing apps to stop when in background (so called app-nap). Is Yosemite OSX installed?

I'm using personal mp3's,m4a's, even soundcloud streams. I use the built-in output. app-nap doesn't seem to be enabled according to the Activity Monitor. Yes I have the latest Yosemite installed.

Very strange.. I will test more to see how this could happen. So far no symptoms like Yours were detected by me of by our testers... Are Your files local or played from NAS/external harddrive/other storage?

The files are from the SSD in the mbp, but it's also happened while playing soundcloud songs within it. Things were ok for a few days but now I'm getting the stutter again till I bring Vox to foreground. The songs seem to go in slow motion when it happens also. Tried to lower my chrome tabs to around 10 and only had chrome, messages, itunes, spotify, notes open once it started happening again.

I have the same issue! Playing locally stored mp3's. Vox starts to stutter/lag as though in conjunction with loading webpages or switching windows etc

Sorry for the delay in reply.
Please go to Vox Preferences ->Audio ->Advanced::Buffer and enlarge playback buffer up to 5000 ms (slider all the way to the right). Then, double-click any track to play it, the new buffer size should be in effect now. Please report here if You still have playback problems.
