Vox a s source for Audio Hijack

I'd like to use the Vox player as a source for the for a scheduled recording using the app Audio Hijack. Audio Hijack accepts Vox as an input, but I have to be present to hit the play button on Vox for this to work. Is there any way for another app to start Vox playing?

Actually Audio Hijack Pro supports automation with AppleScript. But at this point VOX does not support any special automation interfaces, meanwhile there is a way to execute VOX and start playback automatically by passing full path to a track/playlist as a command line parameter.
