Surround Sound Audio Units

Is VOX able to process surround audio files with surround-capable Audio Units? I attempted to play a 5.1 file through an Audio Unit that ultimately converts 5.1 to stereo, and it sounds as if VOX is mixing the file down to stereo before sending it through the Audio Unit. I would really like to change this behavior, so that VOX down-mixes to stereo after my Audio Unit chain.

Is this possible in the current version of VOX? If not, I'd like to request it be added in a future version.

Colin,

Currently Audio units process just the stereo information. Of course we will consider this improvement for future updates. Please suggest a surround plugin we could use for testing.

Hello soundguy,

The simplest plugin to use would probably be Waves S360, a surround sound panner and imager. This would enable you to immediately test if surround input is working.
