Shuffle entire library

#1

Hi!

I'm looking for an alternative to iTunes on Mac OS X , and I really like the Vox interface.

However, I think there's a basic workflow that seems to be missing (or maybe I just missed it somehow?).
This is what I have in mind:
- Open the app
- Search for the single song I have in mind
- Start playback of song
- At the end of the song, if shuffle is turned on, then a random song from the rest of the entire library is played

As it stands right now, it seems like if I want to do this, every time I open the app, I need to actually go to the Library tab, CMD + A for select all, and then hit Play Next.

Is that the intended workflow when you designed the product?

I've also created a Collection where I've added everything from my iTunes library. But I'm not sure if the Collection will automatically update whenever there's a new song added to the iTunes library. Will it?

Thanks,
Johnson

Hey Johnson,

unfortunately, there is no straight way to Shuffle all music, but we are thinking about how to implement this feature in the best way :)
Life hack that you described (with cmd+A) can be used for now.

About Collections. If this Collection was created directly at VOX (screenshot: VOXCollection) - it won't be updated automatically.
If you crate iTunes playlist (at iTunes) - this Collection will be updated on every VOX launch (screenshot: iCollection). Note, you need to enable at Preferences 'Update iTunes Library on VOX start-up' (screenshot: Preferences).

Fell free to ask any questions you have!

I'm on the hunt for a replacement for iTunes, and I thought Vox was it until I realized that there was no way to shuffle all songs in the library (the work-around is cute but not a long term solution for my primary media player). For me, this is a make or break issue. Ideally, I should be able to hit one button and random songs should start playing.
