Re-download previously uploaded files?

#1

I've uploaded some music and have been testing to see if I am able to re-download those files on to my Mac.

A right click on my album gives me the "Download" option but clicking it seems to not do anything beyond creating empty folders at my selected destination folder.

Am I doing something wrong or is this feature not available during trial?

Hi Adrian,

That's weird, could you please tell us the version of your VOX and OS X?

Also please try to reset VOX with the following script and download these files again:

Waiting for your reply

HI there,

I realised my trial expired before I could try to apply the fix as you've suggested. Could you offer an extension for 2 weeks?

My VOX version is : 2.5 build 2500 285
OSX version is 10.10.3

I've tried the script and it doesn't work.

Download still creates just the empty folders on my Mac.

Hi Adrian,

Could you please try to uninstall VOX by AppCleaner, that you can download from the link below:
http://www.freemacsoft.net/appcleaner/

Once it's done, please download and install the latest version (we've already released a new one) of VOX one more time:
https://coppertino.com/vox/download/success

Looking forward to hearing back from you!
Let us know if it works for you!

Hi there,

I've tried your suggested steps and its still not exactly working. This time the behaviour is slightly different. I'll explain the sequence below:

  1. Cleaned the previous Vox with Appcleaner as suggested. Redownloaded the newer version of Vox and installed as per normal (noticed after successful launch, the welcome video never successfully closes at the end. It's a little annoying but no major issue)

  2. Launched Vox and signed in to my account.

  3. Tried downloading an album I've uploaded via right-click download.

  4. Vox prompts me to select destination folder via a dialog. This is where the major problem comes in. I selected a folder and clicked 'Open' but the dialog that prompts me to select destination folder pops up again! I keep repeating what I did and it just keeps going like an infinite loop.

  5. I exit the Vox application but the dialog prompt is still active.

  6. The only way I could make it go away is to restart the Vox application again.

  7. Upon restart, I tried to download again. This time I could see at the bottom of the application window telling me "downloading xxx of xxx tracks". But it whizzes by really quickly.

  8. I checked around for the destination folder that I intended and there was nothing. It's as if it's a phantom download.

PS: Where can I go to define / change the destination folder anyway? I can't seem to find an option for this in the "Preferences".

Hi it's me again,

I've mucked around a bit and found out where the problem was.

  1. I realised for some reason the Loop Agent was somehow still keeping my previous defined folder settings (before my uninstallation). Hence I believe it was trying to download to a location that does not exist.

  2. Manually changed the location from Loop Agent Preferences and it solves the problem and I could download my files successfully.

Nevertheless I think there is still some bugs that you guys will have to resolve based on what I've described above.

Cheers

HI,

Reopening this one with a related question. I noticed, when I download my tracks which I've uploaded as individual tracks, it will be downloaded as individual tracks. But if I originally uploaded it as a single FLAC+cue, the download seems to yield an empty folder. Is it meant to be like that?

Hi Adrian,

Could you please provide us with more details? It also would be great if you could send us the screenshots.

Waiting for your reply!

HI there,

Here is an example.

  1. The Single Flac picture shows that for this album I've got it downloaded indicated by that orange dot. This album was originally uploaded as a single FLAC file with Cue sheet. So it plays fine in the VOX application as individual tracks.
  2. Navigating to the folder where the downloaded file should be, it's empty as shown in Single flac result.
  3. The multiple file picture shows another album that I've downloaded. This one, I've uploaded as multiple files originally.
  4. The multiple file result shows the folder where the files are downloaded. It shows the actual files downloaded.
