Player is working no audio though

#12

Hi, I can report a similar issue that's been cropping up since 2.2.10 of the Mac App Store version, and still exists in the current 2.3.1 standalone.

Basically - it happens for me when I am playing a wav file, and queue another wav to play mid way through playback of the initial track. The 2nd track loads, but then there's no sound while playing. Then all other tracks will be silent also. A restart fixes it.

It seemed to be more of a consistent issue with 2.2.10 but still happens at times with current version. Not a perfectly reproducible issue unfortunately.

They were 48,000hz files. I seemed to have fixed the issue by enabling 'Synchronize Sample Rate with player'.

Yes, I'm happy to try the beta version. But disabling "Fade on Play/Pause" seems to have fixed the issue on 2.3.1.

#14

mulligan, can You please check this version for me: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4070512/VOX23b.zip

Tested the beta today and the problem remains if "Fade on Play/Pause" is enabled. Gapless playback is enabled and works fine, but as soon as "Fade on Play/Pause" is enabled the sound stops. Disabling it makes everything work again.

#16

I'm experiencing the same issues, been download and reset, tried the beta copy (crash after install) all mute or no sound at all. Tried all above steps, reset all settings, disabled the " fade on...." option all doesn't resolved my problem.

Jimmy Soo,
Beta version could crash because it's not for production, but it's strange You could not get sound from VOX.

Are You setting correct audio output device?

#18

Yes, because my iTune is working fine. Sound not mute. Vox seems playing the MP3 but just no sound output.

#19

i'm only have one default output (internal speaker) at the moment.

#20

Which version?

#21

version 2.2.9 from Apple Store.

#22

Tried v2.3.1 (build 2310) problem still the same, no sound from MP3, Flac, etc.

#23

When VOX seems playing, does it show correct track length and current playback position?
And, which OS X version You are using?

#24

Currently Yosemite, previously also not working on Maverick (i hope that upgrade to Yosemite will fix it but it doesn't).

now i realised the track length actually is not updating or moving BUT the track playback position is moving.

#25

I have had the same with the App Store version and it was a bit flaky on the previous version If I remember. I became most disappointed because VOX had been an excellent player and I had to revert to VLC. That was with Mavericks and continued with Yosemite when I upgraded to that 7 days ago.

I liked the ability to easily choose output device as I swap between AirPlay and Internal/Headphones regularly.

Finding this thread I have just downloaded v 2.3.1 (2310) and thankfully now playing FLAC again. I hope you guys work out why it is happening and manage to make it a thing of the past.

#26

Yes, the OS X evolves very fast and lots of developer resource are required just to keep up to it. And we are adding new features constantly.

Glad You are happy with VOX. Please test if 2.3.2 is ok with You.

#27

Yes I loaded latest version only on your web site and all became well.

All the best

Brian
