• Play audio files stored on NAS devices and other network drives; -- HOW?

#1

It says in iPhone app description: • Play audio files stored on NAS devices and other network drives;
So how do I do it?

#2

Mike, I am sorry, but I cannot find such a line in iOS app description, however, this is exactly what we write in OSX app description.

For now, VOX for iOS cannot play from local network, however, this will change in future.

#3

So.. how do I do it in OSX version?

#4

Just add files to VOX via drag&drop or using cmd+O and here You go.

#5

This is no way "play files from nas". I would be surprised if adding files from some accessible mounted disk wouldn't work. You should fix your description, it's misleading.

By playing from nas people usually mean some DLNA functionality, not system-native file access stuff

#6

The fact is that VOX does play from NAS, using one technology or the other, DLNA is not the only option. So the statement is true, but You are free to interpret it.

Do You also vote for adding DLNA functionality to VOX?

#7

Yes, I vote for DLNA functionality

Arguing about “technically correctness” is not a sound customer support strategy, btw

You free to render issue resolved, though

just curious. When it is future and VOX ios would learn playback from NAS? VLC does it why not VOX?

Dear VOX Team-

Has the feature to play flac files directly from a mounted nas on a home network been added to VOX for iOS?
I'd love to use my iPad as a music controller to play local flac files and Internet radio to my active speakers via chromecast audio?

Thanks for confirming, Roberto
