Most tracks uploaded to loop won't play on my Vox for iPhone "Oops, something went wrong..."

#1

TL;DR Loop feature worked at first but now it just skips almost every track.

I'm so excited about this app and the loop product. I really want this to work well.

I started uploading my library to loop with Vox for Mac after loading my iTunes library into it a few days ago. After a few albums uploaded I opened Vox for iPhone and everything started pouring in. Awesome. Played tracks streaming, amazing! Downloaded tracks, even more amazing!

Now that my library is becoming more full I went back to my iPhone. Most tracks don't play. They just say, "Oops, something went wrong..." and skip to the next track. I can't download them either. Not sure what to do.

If I go to Vox for Mac, they play on my Mac just fine. It's not the file.

Hello,

Could you please send us logs that appear when you are experiencing your issue?

Here is the instruction:

  1. Launch Finder>Applications>Utilities Folder>Console. Once it's open, click on "Clear Display".
  2. Try to reproduce the problem with VOX.
  3. When it is done - go back to Console and in the Tray Menu click on "File">Save a Copy As…

After that - send us a .log file that you have got, so we could analyze them.

#4

The issue I'm experiencing is on my iPhone. Do you want me to send you logs from my Mac?

Sorry for misunderstanding.

We've just released a new version of VOX for iOS which is 1.0.4, could you please update it and tell us if the problem is still there?

Waiting for your reply!

#6

Yes I saw that version and tried that.  Unfortunately it did not resolve the issue.

I am eagerly awaiting a response and a solution to this issue because

1) I really want to use Loop for Vox and am genuinely excited about it
2) I am paying for Loop for Vox

What should I do?

Do I need to manually go through everything and delete the stuff that isn't working correctly? The assumption I am making is that the tracks that I uploaded did not upload correctly. I'm not sure if you can test the files I uploaded on your end to see if they hit your servers and are not corrupted. Is it an indexing issue? Is everything pointing to the correct place?

Either way... I'm not sure what I should do at this point. I have about 40,000 tracks that I would like to upload and it's going to be difficult to manage this process if a large % of my tracks don't work after uploading.

Looking forward to working through this with you.

Hello,

Sorry for the delay.

Yes, could you please try to delete tracks which is not working correctly and then upload it again?

If you want to upload such large amount of tracks, please divide them into a smaller parts and then upload your albums to make sure that it will be uploaded properly.

Please let us know how it goes.

#9

Okay. I have deleted everything and I am reuploading. I have to say, I wish there was a better way. This is very cumbersome.

I have some more questions….

As I have already mentioned, my goal is to upload my entire iTunes library.

1) How would you like me to divide it into smaller parts?
*Please keep in mind that I want Loop for Vox to automatically notice when I add music to my iTunes library and automatically upload to Loop.

2) How small should the parts be?

3) Loop seems to crash from time to time, and ask me if I want to send a report. I send it every time. Do you think that this has something to do with it?

4) What would you like me to do when this happens?

Thanks.

Hi Pelcinary,

1) You can just upload several albums at a time.

2) 5 Gb would be the best option here.

3, 4) Just send us the reports via built-in crash reporter so we could fix these issues within future updates.

Please let us know if you need any assistance!

#11

Okay.  For #1.  How would you like me to do that?  My library is about 300gb.  That's way too much work.  I have to manage 60 uploads then.

Also. If I upload using folders it isn't syncing my iTunes library actively.  Right?  I wouldn't be selecting upload iTunes library.  So when I add to my library it won't scrape the new content?

If you're just uploading files to Loop - they won't affect your iTunes library in any case.

You can divide them into a bit larger batches, the main idea is not to overload the upload process to make sure that everything will be uploaded properly.

#13

Hi

I am having the exact problem, never uploaded a bunch of tracks over 5gb. Everything fine on Mac, majority don't show album artwork, play or download on iOS.

#14

Hi Richard,

Please try to sign-out and sign-in to Loop in order to update it on your iOS device, and then try to re-upload these albums.

It should work fine. Please let us know how it goes!

#15

Do i need to delete the albums first or just re-upload?

#16

I think there's a misunderstanding.  I wasn't concerned that my would effect my iTunes library would be effected or changed.

Let me explain...

My understanding is that one of the features of choosing to upload iTunes library rather than uploading folders is that loop will actively or periodically look at my iTunes library for additions or changes.  When it sees them it will automatically upload those additions or changes.

If I upload folders my understanding is I would not have the benefits of those features.   Any changes I make in iTunes would not be reflected on loop and I would have to manually manage that process.

Is that correct?

And would I lose the benefits of those features if I followed your instructions by uploading my music in batches by selecting upload folders rather than upload iTunes library?

Loop currently won't detect changes in your iTunes library, so these are separate sources.

If you'll make any changes in iTunes - they won't be reflected on Loop.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.
