Keyboard shortcuts with external keyboards

Hello!

First of all, I want to thank you for the player, it is the best one I could find for my Mac - simple, but very powerful!

There is one problem, however. I'm using an external keyboard (Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 4000, to be precise), and I wanted to use its media keys to control Vox. While volume keys work fine, it seems that play/pause key is not intercepted properly by Vox system extension. While MacBook's own Fn+Play/Pause key works well, the same key on the external keyboard always starts iTunes.

Hopefully this can be fixed.

Hello,

Yes, unfortunately, the problem does persist. I've just updated both VOX and the preferences pane, and still "Play" button always launches iTunes.

I have now discovered that it got worse. Even Fn+Keys now work incorrectly, they launch iTunes instead. I can go to the VOX preferences pane and turn the checkbox there off and on, and for some time the correct behavior is restored, but after some time it breaks again.

Try to check and uncheck them again and please send us logs that appear when you are experiencing your issue.

Here is the instruction:

  1. Launch Finder>Applications>Utilities Folder>Console. Once it's open, click on "Clear Display".
  2. Try to reproduce the problem with VOX.
  3. When it is done - go back to Console and in the Tray Menu click on "File">Save a Copy As…

After that - send us a .log file that you have got.

I've got this problem again and I've captured logs for VOX. Please find them in the attachment. It seems that VOX helper service is terminated for some reason.

We've just released a new version of Preference Pane. Please, try to update it in 'System Preferences'.

Let us know if this issue will appear again.

Hello,

After a day of testing I can conclude that the problem with regular media keys is fixed, many thanks for this!

The original problem (about media keys on the external keyboard) still persists.
