For the past year, I've been trying to execute the following strategy for my home music...
1. Streaming from TIDAL.
2. HiRes tracks that I own in Vox/Loop in FLAC or DFF or DSD format
I love the look and feel of Vox and it's efficient use of screen real-estate. However, I have three issues with the Vox/Loop side of things.
i) For FLAC files the artwork is hit and miss. They look fine in other apps (Onkyo Music Player for Android, Audirvana for Mac) but do not display in VOX at the top level, until I click down and go into the actual album.
ii) There doesn't appear to be an obvious way of updating Loop or doing a lightweight resync if only tags or album art has been update on the underlying file. The only way I can find to update Loop for an existing Album is to delete and re-upload, which seems a bit heavy-handed. Am I missing something?
iii) This is a big issue. One year on, still no reliable support for DSD/DFF. They play fine, but VOX's inability to properly process the tags in the DFF mean that the albums are impossible to find, all being lumped into an Untitled Artist category. Can this be fixed please?
The last issue has become a show stopper for me and pushed me to evaluate Audirvana. While it's in no way as beautiful as VOX, it is more reliable in cataloging DFF files and therefore may be the place for me to go if VOX can't be fixed.
Is there an update coming or a fix you can suggest?
Thanks!
