Gap/Overlap on Skip

#1

I really like the Gap/Overlap feature that allows you to fade from one song to the next.
Here's a feature request that can help get more mileage of of this feature.

Why not enable the feature when skipping to another song? This would provide the ability to turn on the Gap/Overlap feature when skipping forward or backward between two songs.

Each song would fade based on the fade time property when skipping a song.
This would help eliminate abrupt stop/starts and offer a smoother transitions.

Thanks for getting back to me about this request, you have demonstrated
excellent customer service!

Here's a little more context for you to consider...

The ability to fade is such a helpful feature that you already have in the
tool; it really makes transitions between songs so much smoother.

If you could fade while skipping to another song you could basically use
VOX to DJ (somewhat). Think of the possibilities.

I love Vox as a player, I use mostly FLAC/WAV. I subscribe to LOOP and am a
working DJ. VOX is my home/portable player of choice.

When I am not using my DJ Tools and want to play music recreationally, I
often wonder why audio players don't have better fade capabilities. To a DJ
an abrupt transition is the worst thing possible however sometimes you want
to skip ahead after a certain point, or skip out of a bad song without
stopping the flow.

If the Gap/Overlap feature simply had a toggle to turn it on for skipping
(checkbox) it would be easy to activate.

E.g.

Gap/Overlap

Use gap overlap when skipping songs? [checkbox]

I hope that helps! Is it a major update to accomplish such a task?

Thanks again for considering this!

Cory, thanks a bunch for a detailed explanation!

It makes sense, we just need to see how much time and development resources it will take.
