DSD Technology

Q: Does Vox support DSD technology?
A: Well, yes and no.

Yes, DSD file support

VOX recognizes and plays DSD files (.dsf and .dff extensions), that’s what “DSD file format support” notion in ads means. It plays them by converting to standard 32-bit 44.1/48/88/96kHz PCM format. The primary idea is to allow playback of DSD files on standard conventional sound cards.

No, no support for DSD sample format output VOX does not support DSD audio DAC’s in DSD mode, so all audio will play in PCM mode through these devices.

However, there are plans for “direct DSD” device support in the future.
