I'm running a legacy version of Vox on Snow Leopard (Vox 0.2.7.1), and something I've done has broken FLAC playback on all legacy versions of Vox that I have .dmg files for (including 0.3b2, the last version that worked on Snow Leopard). The app reads the metadata but won't play the file. The app will play all other audio file formats I try (MP3, WAV, AIFF, etc.). Just won't play FLAC files. I've deleted the app using AppCleaner, reinstalled, restarted...nothing seems to fix the problem. I mistakenly tried to open the latest version of Vox, but simply got an installation warning. FLAC files are still playable on other apps that I have installed (VLC, Audirvana, clementine, MPlayer). Just seems to be an issue with Vox. I noticed that there are issues with recent versions of Vox on OSX. Any troubleshooting ideas are appreciated.
Broken FLAC playback on legacy version of VOX
Please also try to Reset VOX completely with the following
script:

Thanks! Please let us know if it helps.
It seems that you've somehow removed the preference file for playing FLAC in this version.
We don't support it anymore, so is there any way for you to upgrade your OS X/ VOX version?
I'm having exactly the same issue. Tried the script. Tried deleting the app and reinstalling - nothing working. Sadly on old computer (OS 10.6.8). I can't work out if there is a newer version of Vox that will run on this system - Using Vox 0.2.7.1
Know you guys don't offer support for old software but if anyone reading this knows a fix PLEASE do post one here - have used Vox for years now and recommended it to many people. Shame this happened. Have no idea what I will use in it's place.
Hello,
Thanks for reaching out.
You are right, we do not support legacy versions, because it's hard
to tell what happened and why it stopped working. Sometimes things
stop working with no apparent reasons on unsupported OS...
We even have not such OS here to test it somehow...
You could try to remove the VOX app with some app cleaner program
and try to install again.
I hope it will help You.
