Airplay problem

#1

I can't seem to get airplay to work with vox, I have it installed on both my MacBook air and mac mini and neither connects to airplay speaker (older airport express used on to receive and connect to amp/speakers) This airplay speaker works with my aTV, iTunes on either computer - actually all other airplay programs on either one. Plus it of course works on my iPhone even using Vox. Actually right now I'm playing VOX airplay to the aTV and the aTV to the Airport express/amp/speakers (I'm still annoyed that apple removed the optical out on the aTV4 and have redone my system to use audio HDMI out)

I select the airport express as the audio option and it switched back to headphone after a moment on both the mini and air. this wasn't a problem in the as I used USB DAC/amp/speakers with the Mini to play the FLAC files not in Itunes (iTunes works perfectly with the AE speakers from the Mini)

Vox wont connect even when the aTV is off (no light) both computer have itunes closed - ie nothing is connected to the AE/speakers. but Vox still switches away from airplay to the AE when selected on both computers.

Helo,
thank You for report.

It's a pain for us to hear that our Airplay implementation (which is is operation in case of desktop Vox and Airplay is not "System default") does not work properly for some of users. We had to move to this solution since El Capitan because they closed access to Airplay devices in this OS, from third-party apps.

Please try this as a workaround - set Your Airplay device as system default in OS X System Preferences, then direct Vox to play through "Same As System".

Can You hear any audio iin that case?

Well, that does work (setting it as system default). Sorry should have thought of that.
I use to have my mini directly connected to my audio system and haven't used it as much - VOX/airplay since then. I do use on my Laptop VOX/USB-DAC-amp/ Headphones which of course isn't a problem.

I really get tired fo the way apple does things it might get to the point its not worth it. 3.5mm jack missing from an iPhone might very well be that point for me

Thanks that worked I should have tried it first

Ok now another problem this time with iOS app on an iPad (Air2) I use box on my iPhone and a iPad mini but haven't on this iPad air2. On opening the app there's the initial instruction pages but the cut off and crushed. I think I was able to use the next twice then nothing. I deleted the app and download a fresh copy and still the same thing. I'll also Vix is hard to find in the App Store on an iPad, your free apps show up but not the for pay player that works with Loop.it's onlyiphone only section. Vox works perfectly on my iPad mini2

Hello,
Thanks for Your report.
1. Quit the VOX app
Double click the Home button (or 3D Touch press the left side of the screen on iPhone 6s) to bring up the fast app switcher.
Swipe to the app you want to force quit.
Touch the app card and flick it up and off the screen.
2. Open App again (no need to reinstall). After the second launch, welcome screen should be gone.

I did that, quit the app from the fast switch screen before reinstalled. Reinstalled because that didn't work. Though I didn't do it after reinstall. I was so annoyed I just deleted it again off the iPad

I'll try it again

VOX shows welcome screen only once after downloading. If You reinstall it - it's brand new again, so the welcome screen will be shown again. All You need is just quit it and open again (without reinstall).
The new iPad app is coming soon.
Stay tuned!
