Interesting discussion of how people are or are not using Vox and Loop.
To the developers: There's a lot of nice marketing copy available, but I had a hard time understanding HOW and WHERE to upload files.

With Vox 2.5 it's easier to find Loop (second icon on the left next to playlists) and you can drag new files to import into Loop. From what I can tell the upload isn't too bad -- depending of course on your connection. As an option under Loop is iTunes, so you can connect music in iTunes to Vox/Loop.
From what I can tell the iTunes connection only really works at the Desk Vox level. I don't see music connected in Vox via iTunes. At the iPhone, I see music uploaded to Loop. It would be nice if the iTunes music is also available on the iPhone. Perhaps the developers could add an option to Copy iTunes Music to Loop (or a select option for individual albums you want copied? Otherwise, I guess I need to go into my iTunes Library and manually upload to Loop. Seems like wasted time. I prefer the higher quality FLAC files, so I'd listen to them first anyway.
The view is by album so far. Would be nice to have some options to organize music on Loop, at least by artist, then album. It can get pretty messy.
I won't mind paying a reasonable flat fee if I can upload FLACs I want to listen to and access them on any device (will there be an iPad version of Vox? I didn't look to see it's universal.) When I'm at home or at the coffee shop or a place with good wifi, carrier charges are not an issue. When away from wifi, yes they are -- although I am grandfathered in to unlimited data.
It seems to me that Vox is on to something but everything still needs work. I just hope they continue to develop and listen to their users. As it stands now I won't renew Music Match and may even drop a streaming service. In the end, I like access to all sorts of music, but that costs me at least $100 a year. I already have a great digital music collection, the problem has been access to it on different devices and remotely. If Vox can solve this for $50 a year, I'm in.
We'll see. I have 13 more days to experiment.
