AAC and multichannel audio

#1

Hi there. I've used Quicktime to record a few takes on some audio equipment connected to my mac via USB. The music is 90% crap, BUT, the setup works well actually; I can record live takes on my computer to analyse and use later. But, for some reason, these files will not play back on correctly Vox. They will playback correctly on QuickTime and iTunes though.

I've set the audio recording quality to Maximum, which I'm assuming will result in a maximum quality AAC format recording. Yet, when I play back on Vox, the LEFT channels is SILENT, and the RIGHT is FINE. This is the only thing preventing me from setting VOX to my default audio player- its great in so many other ways, but from a musicians point of view, this situation is a bit of a blocker. I believe I've already emailed about this before, and still keen to get to the bottom of it.

Have you any suggestions? Is this a known bug? Is it an issue due to multi-channel audio (i.e. is the AAC multichannel?) Let me know, I'd love to get rid of this issue, even if its just a setting I haven't noticed on my side of things.

Thanks!

David, thanks for Your note.

This sounds strange. Land R should always be in place.

Recently we updated multichannel layout of VOX, so the answer depends on which version You currently use, I assume there might be some issues depending on file channels count.

To add to this, could You please send us a sample (which does not have LEFT) for analysis?
